The profile of our typical candidate is a recent university graduate. No prior full time work experience is required, however, some of our hires had worked elsewhere before joining us. We prefer candidates who possess the 3Ds, the main traits that we see as critical to being a successful business consultant::
- Drive – understanding that things do not happen unless you make them happen
- Direction – knowing where you want to go in life and how a career in consulting relates to this goal
- Diligence – accepting that success is based on hard work which you embrace as the way to learn faster and expand your knowledge
We look for people with:
A good academic record – after all, this was supposed to be your full time job during your studies, therefore, why should you not have good results?
International exposure – studies abroad, summer jobs/full time jobs abroad– all demonstrate to us that you have lived and interacted with various cultures and handled unexpected situations which such interactions bring . The majority of our projects are done on an international basis and people who have worked/lived abroad will have one less new thing to tackle.
Excellent English, other languages a strong plus – if you cannot communicate with your clients, you cannot solve their problems. English is the lingua franca of the business world and therefore a prerequisite for applying. Other languages are a plus, Russian being the most sought after.
Data analysis proficiency – our analyses are data driven, the amount of data that companies are generating are growing, the complexity of deriving meaningful information out of them as well. Being able to handle data analysis tasks at least in Excel are a big advantage. Knowledge of SQL is an additional bonus point.
Any other extraordinary abilities – people who succeeded in the above and on top of that were able to achieve success in some other areas have obviously demonstrated their 3Ds as well as an ability to manage multiple priorities and their own time. We have among us national champions in scrabble, competitive mountain climbers, PhD’s with published books. Those are the things that tell us that we are dealing with an extraordinary individual who can contribute to our success.
